Raised in academia by a writer and a sociology professor, I grew up in northern Illinois where farm meets university. It shaped me into a townie who loves animals, nature and books. I started reading as soon as I figured out how and I’ve been an actor since I could get anyone to pay attention.
Once I earned my BA in creative writing I embarked on—what else?—an acting career. My stage experience covers everything from Second City comedy to Shakespeare, and my resume includes TV, film and voiceover, including Ryoko the space pirate in the classic anime, Tenchi Muyo. As a writer I’ve published short stories, essays and articles, a book about the funny side of being a journeyman actor called Act As If, and a time-slip novel called Camelot & Vine.
Working from my home studio in Los Angeles, I’m drawn to literary fiction, mystery/thriller, history, women’s fiction, classics, and anything that requires comic timing. I’m a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, PANA and the Audio Publishers Association.
