Bio

Trained as an actor (BFA in Theater; study with Herbert Berghof and Aaron Frankel at HB Studio in NYC, and Paul Sills, co-founder of Chicago’s The Second City), Ed is currently coached by Johnny Heller in audiobook and commercial narration. Ed has provided his distinctive mellifluous sound as a voice-over talent and on-air announcer for many years including a variety of commercial work (program promos for Wisconsin PBS-TV affiliates, upcoming show spots for New York City Center, and in 2023 several projects for the zoo in Syracuse, NY). But Ed also knows how to spin a story; his keen understanding of message development and prioritization from years as a marketing communications professional inform his script interpretation for audiobook narration assignments. “Knighted” in Cognac, France, commissioned an honorary “Kentucky Colonel” by the Bluegrass State Governor — Ed has enjoyed a diverse, fun, occasionally frenzied, career in performance and marketing. His chameleon-like ability to adapt/learn/adjust led to successful marketing executive positions in wide-ranging industries from hospitality and entertainment, to manufacturing, museums, and casinos. Along the way, in his performance career he created and ran two experimental theater companies in the Midwest, appeared in a variety of day player roles on the daytime drama “All My Children," and as recently as 2022, was nominated for Best Performer in a Play in the Broadway World regional awards in Central Virginia for his role as an inebriated 1940s radio theater talent in the comedy, "Mayhem on the Air."
